A gold lacquer suzuribako (writing box)

Finely worked in gold inlay with three karako (Chinese

boys), one holding a doll, another a tambourine and the other a drum, on a gold lacquer ground

worked in taka-maki-e with a pine tree, the sides with a geometric floral motif, the interior with a

cascading waterfall applied with a silver kettle-shaped water dropper.
