Atsuyoshi

A bronze okimono by Atsuyoshi for the Maruki Company, cast in four sections in the form of three young boys playing on a gnarled tree trunk, one boy standing at one end, his companion walking falteringly along the top as he tries to keep his balance whilst the third boy tumbles over; affixed onto a large oval wood stand.
Signed in an oval reserve Atsuyoshi saku with seal Maruki shachu seisaku.
Circa 1890.
